Toronto FC started off its defense of the Voyageurs Cup Wednesday away in Alberta with a decisive 3-0 win over newcomers FC Edmonton.

In this video blog I discuss why Aron Winter got the starting XI and the bench just about 100% right on Wednesday evening. I heap well deserved praise on the performances of Gordon, Eckersley and especially youngster Joao Plata. And I lament (just a little bit) on the fact that the game ended up not being as much of a spectacle as I hoped it would have been again due to a somewhat suspect call by a MLS official.
