I’ve been a little tardy on this one but there is still time for many you to get in on a pretty neat contest.

Patrice BernierMy good friends over at http://wakingthered.com (who produce a pretty fantastic TFC-centric blog by the way) are running a contest ahead of the Canadian Men’s National Team game against St. Kitts & Nevis next Tuesday at BMO Field where the winner will receive a personalized prize from Canadian International standout Patrice Bernier. The link to the details of the contest are below.

Basically they are hoping that fans of the national team briefly share some of their own personal experiences in writing as a Canadian Fan that people might fell are memorable and that  are worthy to share with others.

The prize is not about writing per se but more about the content of the story so don’t feel intimidated by the written word.

I am entering myself and I hope some of you do as well.

11/14/2011 – Edit: Am proud to report that I made it to the top three in this contest with my piece about the first live footy match I ever saw, Canada’s victory over Honduras in 1985 that saw the Canucks qualify for World Cup ’86 in Mexico. The link to the top three posts is here: http://www.wakingthered.com/2011/11/14/2561961/o-canada-contest-the-top-3
