I was away this weekend on an “unofficial” scouting trip for Toronto FC. I got word late last week that there was a young player who TFC definitely needed to see and that he was looking for representation. So I took it upon myself to go down to Port Burwell Ontario and see him for myself.

His name is Steve Weiner.

The player was touted to me as being great on the ball, very quick and although somewhat small, a real bulldog of a player.  And the video I took below showed that as a player, Steve Weiner was all that and more.

Unfortunately upon further investigation I found that young Mr. Weiner has a serious drinking problem that would have made George Best or Paul Gascoigne proud on their best day.

TFC has enough problems. Signing such an obvious drunk would have been a huge mistake.
