A sixth loss in a row for Toronto/Turmoil FC this weekend past has stirred up reports of on field and off field conflict, a front office that is getting lectured to by senior MLSE management and we have rumours swirling of player and/or coaching exits that might soon be taking place.

Just another week in the drama that is Toronto FC.

In this video blog I take a quick look back at some of the more odd happenings during and after last weekend’s all too common home defeat and what they all might mean going forward for this club.

And here is a link to Aron Winter’s post game presser if you have not seen it.

Spot on re the LFC match. Re the season being gone already, while it will be the case if this run continues, I do not feel that we are out of contention at this stage.Arsenal were bottom 3 after a few games in the EPL and turned it around. Now, I am not drawing comparisons with Arsenal (far from it) but I’m not ready to throw in the towel in April…
I agree re saturday. Until then I was going with the “we were unlucky ” but saturday was chaos and it wrries me that AW is unwilling to compromise his principles and admit that he does not have the personnel to play total football. You can do that at Ajax as you are not constrained by a salary cap. It can be argued that, given time, we can do it here with the academy, but will there be any fans left by that stage. There were barely 13000 on saturday.
There does seem to be turmoil at the club. I don’t know where to begin but this club seems to lurch from one crisis to anothe over the years, and as a loyal Day 1 supporter I start wondering why I continue to invest time money and emotion in this club. If it were not for the friends and matchday experience in 115, I may feel different , but I know that I and my fellow 115ers will be there for TFC come what may despite the BS that seems to be going down.
What worries me is that BMO looks more and more like a red Crew stadium from week to week. Where has the support gone since Skydome? Are TFC supporters really that shallow? Those who read this blog are not, but the crowd gets more sparse by the week, tickets cannot be given away and the vibe has long since gone. I was so optimistic for this season and I don’t understand how it has gone pear-shaped so quickly.
Keep up the good work, Tim

  2. Enlightening comments as always. I feel that Aaron has until the end of this year to show that he can improve this team, if not it may be the end of his tenure. As for Julian DeGuzman, I think he will decide on his own to part ways or not to renew his contract with TFC. I’m no longer interested in the CCL Championships, only MLS playoffs should be the goal going forward.
