I have renewed my season seats for 2013 and if you have done the same you will already have received the following email form the club earlier this afternoon:

Account Number: xxxxxxx

Dear Tim,
Thank you for your support during the 2012 season and for renewing your seats for 2013. We look forward to cheering on our Reds with you at BMO Field next year.
We recognize that collaboration amongst all stakeholders is an integral part of any successful organization, and something that is even more personal to us, living our mantra of “All for One”. It’s with this philosophy that we invite you to this season’s Town Hall Meetings.
Our previous Town Halls have been valuable forums for our Season Seat Holders and our Club. So please join Head Coach Paul Mariner, Director of Player and Team Operations, Earl Cochrane, TFC Academy Director, Thomas Rongen and Senior Director of Business Operations, Paul Beirne, who will answer your questions and outline the direction of the club for the 2013 Toronto FC season.

Monday, November 19th
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
7:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.

Wednesday, November 21st
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
7:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.

I have signed up to go to the first evening of Town Halls on November 19th and like in previous years will take notes (and some video if I can get away with it) and report back on what was said by both the TFC staffers present and the paying customers.

If you can’t attend and have serious questions you want asked I will do my best to ask them on your behalf. Please respond in the comments section below if you have anything you want asked/addressed.

I will give the club full credit for continuing with this process and I salute them for their bravery in advance of what might be a process fraught with anger and frustration on the part of those fans that still care enough to show up and vent their frustrationd directly to the club.

What I want to question however is the glaring absence of the one person more than any other that should be there to face the customers.

Tom Anselmi is still ostensibly the president of Toronto FC. In spite of his move “upstairs” into the office Richard Peddie recently vacated at MLSE it was Tom Anselmi who was front and centre a few weeks ago announcing the season seat price reductions for 2013 (see the quote from torontofc.ca to the left!).

Most importantly Tom is the single person who is ultimately responsible for the mess that the team finds itself in and I think it would be high time for him to descend from the corner office to face the fans directly.

Now don’t get me wrong I am glad that the four attending from the team are committed to keeping this process going and I for one hope that something good comes out of this entire thing. But I fear that the one person who realy truly needs to hear how badly he has f**ked it all up from the customers, who needs to understand directly the folly of him continuing on in the role that has left the team where it finds itself today has decided to take a pass.

I kind of feel sorry in advance for Mariner, Cochrane Beirne and Rongen who will all probably be faced with trying to answer questions and address anger that in fairness should be directed to the guy at the top of the pyramid.
