So TFC gets home and I immediately leave town. I am off camping this weekend and won’t be blogging on all things TFC until Monday and of course I won’t be in my usual south end perch. But before checking out and hitting the road this evening I want to quickly touch on the New England match tomorrow.

Toronto of course is playing its 5^th match in 15 days. In that stretch the club has gone undefeated in four, only conceding two goals. This stretch has also seen the emergence of the Adrian Cann/Nana Attakora partnership in central defence that has been arguably the single most significant difference to the fortunes of Toronto FC on the pitch all season. Toronto has also found ways in the last two draws away in LA and Vancouver to grind out results without Designated Player Julian De Guzman, who has been out with a hamstring injury. Captain Dwayne De Rosario is in Argentina with Team Canada as they play Argentina on Monday so tomorrow TFC will be without its midfield general and top goal scorer.

And I still believe that Toronto has enough to get by the Revs 1-nil.

In my video blog after the Vancouver match on Wednesday I spoke about how I see this “Preki” style of club emerging. To my eyes Toronto FC looks like the kind of club one would absolutely hate to play against, with their aggressive smothering defensive style of play. New England is without Shalrie Joseph, their best player by far who is currently in rehab for a substance abuse issue (I hope he makes a full recovery soon, MLS is the worse for his absence!) Add to that the fact that the club is into its 10^th month without losing at home and I think I can safely make the prediction below.

Then the players go home and deservedly sleep until Victoria Day at the earliest.
