Last Saturday evening I had the pleasure of seeing a  new Toronto based band called The South End perform in downtown Toronto. I have known two of the four members of the band personally for quite a while and it was a great evening of “drunk-old-guy-hooligan-chant-punk-rock” (their words… not mine).

Other than giving my buddies a plug, why might I mention them on a blog dedicated to all things TFC?

Well the name of the group The South End is obviously inspired by the time they as individuals have spent in the south end of BMO Field enjoying the fan experience as season ticket holders since day one. Lead singer Brian Wicks even has that TFC season Ticket car sticker from the 2010 season ticket package adorning his guitar. I took the liberty of recording one of their tracks (called “Terrorizer”) that is obviously inspired by TFC cult hero Danny Dichio. If you have ever sang the Dichio chant in the 24th minute at BMO Field you will definitely enjoy this…

The South End are:

  • Brian Wicks – Vocals, Guitar
  • Mike Charette – Guitar
  • Dan Springer – Bass
  • Pat Ferrigan – Drums

  1. Thanks for posting this Tim… just a bit of extra background… we are all supporters from day one, and are season ticket holders in the same row in Section 111. This was our first show so we are ironing out some kinks, but we will be hitting the studio over the winter and putting down this and a few other footy tracks all nice and clean for next season… hope you like em’

    TFC!

    Cheers,

    South End

Nice! Can we book them for a pre-game or post game set at Maro? Or The Duke?

Can’t wait to hear the U-Sector Anthem song.
